Keeping Your Motivation In Hotel Marketing

In any situation where you are working at your hotel, the dollars can get tight and you can lose heart. However, you can’t let these slow times keep you down. In network marketing, there are some specific ways to keep yourself motivated, so that you can keep fighting forward, even when things seem so slow that they are never going to pick up again in the hotel game.

In the movie “Cinderella Man,” when the boxer James J. Braddock was asked what he was fighting for, he said, “Milk.” He was dirt poor during the Great Depression — so poor that he could not pay his utility bills, and he had to send his wife and children away so that they could stay in a home with heat during the cold of winter. However, once he started getting fights again, he had a new passion that brought him victory after victory. He was fighting for his family’s survival — a battle that he refused to lose. You are also fighting for those around you — use them as motivation not to lose heart.

Each time you hit a new goal, give yourself a reward. The goals do not have to be large, and neither do the rewards. However, keeping yourself a system for positive motivation will push you to work harder on a regular basis. Feeling successes will help you stay focused on the tasks at hand, so that you will work even harder for those who are counting on you.

Your upline has a vested interest in your success — after all, when you bring in profits, he gets a piece of the action. So if things are really in the doldrums, turn to your upline for some advice. Chances are that he has also gone through a very slow time himself, so finding out some tactics for breaking out of your rut should be just as simple as sending an email or making a telephone call. The first new idea may not work, but just having the support of your upline should give you a boost of confidence.

Just like your upline wants you to succeed, you are waiting for your downline to succeed as well, as his profits help contribute to yours. If your own sales are tapering off, and you’re too frustrated to help yourself out for a few hours, take some time out and help your downline. You’ll build a relationship with your subsidiary, and you’ll take your focus off your own problems, just for a short time. This shift of focus may help you think of ways out of your own difficulties, so that when you turn your own focus back to your own sales, you may have the right solution in mind.

When times are going well, make sure to put some money away for a rainy day. In case your sales turn down, you will need it.

With your problems in the rear view mirror, it is time to get back out there and start working again. Effort pays off over time, so don’t give up!
